Galaxy Note 4 is a new Android based device that has been recently released on the market. Of course we are talking about a highly expected and rumored phablet, which is Samsung’s latest flagship, thus we are also talking about high end specs and features. Well, if you have bought the Note 4 you are probably an advanced Android user who will defenetely try to use this device for completing various operations. Therefore, you must use your Note 4 on full power without dealing with factory or default restrictions.
In that matter, you will have to speed up your phablet and you will also have to optimize its general performances. Of course, these are custom operations that are usually performed only by experienced users. And the first custom process to apply on an Android powered smartphone or tablet is gaining root access. Well, as you can already tell, during this step by step guide we will be checking on how to easily root your Samsung Galaxy Note 4. The unlock operation will be completed by using Odin and Cf-Auto-Root exploit. In case you don’t know, Odin is an official tool while CF-Auto-Root is maybe one of the most popular and used root solutions.
Lets go over and start rooting our GN4.
  1. Go to this page and from there get the root file and save the same on your computer.
  2. Download Odin and Samsung KIES on your computer.
  3. On desktop unzip Odin and the root package.
  4. Install Odin by following the on screen prompts and use Samsung KIES for installing the Note 4 USB drivers on your computer.
  5. In the end run Odin on your PC.
  6. You now need to enter your phablet in download mode; first turn it off (press power button and select “power off” or press and hold power key for a few seconds) and then you have to press and hold Power, Volume Down and Home buttons at the same time.
  7. Connect your handset with your computer using the USB cable.
  8. On Odin the “added” message will be displayed and the ID:COM section will turn yellow or blue – if not, just reinstall the USB drivers and repeat the steps from above.
  9. Next, from the program pick the PA option and then select the root file from desktop.
  10. In the end, click on “start” and wait while the root process is completed.
  11. Finally, on Odin the “pass” message will be displayed and the ID:COM section will turn green.
  12. Unplug the USB cable and reboot your smartphone.
Odin might get stuck during the root operation and in that situations you will have to close the program, remove the USB cable and force restart your phablet. Of course, in the end you will have to repeat the guide from step 1.
Also, after completing the steps from above, your device might get stuck on a boot loop. In that case you will have to enter your android smartphone in recovery mode. From recovery just select “wipe data factory reset” and “wipe cache partition”, go back to main menu and pick “reboot system now”.
There you have it; that’s how you can easily and safely root the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 by using Odin and CF-Auto-Root.
